4-Day Bwindi Gorilla Trekking and Lake Bunyonyi Safari

You will experience the once-in-a-lifetime commune with nature as you come face-to-face with the mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. For this 4-Day Bwindi Gorilla Trekking in the natural habitats and Lake Bunyonyi Safari, you will be immersed in the beauty of the world’s third-deepest lake in the world. Lake Bunyonyi island hopping, canoeing, nature walks, and cultural immersion.

Day 1: Arrival at Airport and Travel to Bwindi forest

You will be picked up by our knowledgeable and experienced driver-guide, given a detailed briefing of your safari and you will travel south-west towards Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. You will break your journey at the Equator crossing for some pictures and lunch will be en route in Mbarara. Your first night will check in at your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After an early morning breakfast, you will take a drive towards the national park gate where you will receive a further briefing and your safari will start. You will then spend time in this natural forest that serves as home to the majestic gorillas only available in this part of the world.

Well-trained rangers who have spent time with the gorillas will accompany and guide you to locate the gorillas. You will be issued with a certificate on your return.

Depending on the time of day, you will experience the Batwa cultural display including song and dance as well as the skills used in hunting and gathering when in the forest where they live. You will return to your lodge room for a well-deserved rest after a long day.

Day 3: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi in Kabale

You will then travel to Kabale where Lake Bunyonyi is located. And check in at your lodge as you enjoy the scenic view of the Lake.

After lunch, you will enjoy the island experience with a narration of the detailed history. These include Punishment Island where girls who got pregnant out of wedlock were sent to die as well as Bwama Island which was used to isolate leprosy patients. Try out the dug-out canoe common among the fishermen, and if you are up to it, have a taste of the local brew, omuramba.

Day 4: Travel back to Entebbe

You will set off towards Kampala and Entebbe where your safari will end. Depending on your departure time, an hour at the Igongo Cultural Museum where you will have your lunch is recommended. The journey will take you about 9 hours with stop over for lunch and then to Entebbe airport for your flight.
