Originally scheduled for the rainy season, Nyege Nyege was shifted to the dry season over some period. For both production and its distinctive East African party atmosphere, this festival is regarded as the most significant 4-day international music event in East Africa.

Along with an artist management company and a famed party crew named Boutiq Electroniq, Nyege Nyege is part of a Kampala based artists collective featuring residency and community studios. Nyege Nyege music festival is a highlight for both fans and performers as it seeks to highlight the fascinating evolution on the East African scene to present beloved projects and provide you a true voice to the underground.

Nyege Nyege music festival is first and primarily a celebration of Uganda culture and African music and the “spirit of Uganda,” even if it draws a worldwide audience and is international in character. It is not conventional “destination festival.” Most significantly, Nyege Nyege is all about dancing as, when the Nyege strikes you, when the need to dance is no longer under control, you have to let go and let Nyege rule.
