Bird Watching

Bird Watching: Trekking with mountain gorillas is typically preferred by many bird watchers. Many tourists come to the park every day in order to interact with different primates, including elephants, chimpanzees, monkeys, and many more. However, some of them travel there especially to see birds.

There are over 350 kinds of birds known to exist in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, including 23 endemics. Other birds include the Common Bulbul, African Emerald Cuckoo, African Blue and White-tailed Blue Flycatchers, Red-headed Bluebill, Short-tailed Warbler, and Blue-headed Sunbird. The main birding paths in Bwindi are the Mubwindi swamp trail in Ruhija and the Buhoma waterfall trail.

One of the places in Bwindi where one may go bird watching is Ruhija; those who are interested in doing so might want to travel to Uganda. There are numerous bird species, such as the Francolin, the white-tailed crested flycatcher, the cinnamon-chested bee-eater, the Rwenzori batis, the western green Tinker bird, the red-faced woodland warbler, the mountain plus yellow-streaked green buls, and the mountain marked plus chestnut-throated Apalises, among many others.
