During this 6-day Tanzania itinerary, you will see the Great Wildebeest Mara Crossing, a spectacular sight as grazer animals cross a river teeming with crocodiles, while the crocodiles wait patiently under the water to feed on the migratory mammals. You will go to the center Serengeti (Seronera region) for your 6-day Tanzanian safari, where you may see the May–June wildebeest migration.
Day 1: Arusha – Lake Manyara National Park.
After being picked up from your Arusha hotel or lodge, your Great Wildebeest Migration Safari in Tanzania begins with a drive to Lake Manyara National Park to see animals. Numerous animal species, including elephants, giraffes, zebras, hippos, buffaloes, and innumerable bird species, including flamingos, are drawn to Lake Manyara, one of the stunning national parks on the Northern Tanzania safari circuit, which is located at the base of the Great Rift Valley.
After a delicious lunch, lion taxis that climb trees in Lake Manyara may be observed napping on the branches of acacia tortilis. Before making the nighttime trip to the Karatu region, you will have a lunch stop at one of the picnic areas and continue your game drives.
Day 2 & 3: Karutu – Nothern Serengeti National Park.
Following breakfast, you will depart early and drive through Karatu agricultural land and past the Ngorongoro Conservation area before descending into the endless Serengeti plains and arriving at Nabi Gate in the afternoon.
During the game drive, you will be traveling to the Northern Serengeti, arriving at the location either before or during sunset. Predators like lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, jackals, and innumerable birds of prey will be spotted alongside the Great Migration, and you will spend these two days on game drives in Lobo, Bologonja, Kogatende, and at the Mara River, where you may witness the river crossing of the herd migration of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles.
Day 4: Centtral Serengeti National Park.
Before traveling to the center Serengeti, spend a considerable amount of time at the migratory hub after breakfast. The Park is renowned for having a robust population of numerous native animals, especially the “big five,” which are called for the five most valuable trophies that hunters capture: Lion: Because of the number of prey species, the Serengeti is said to have Africa’s greatest lion population.
This habitat is home to about 3,000 lions. African Leopards are solitary predators that are often seen. You can watch the wildebeest migration while you’re here, and if you’re fortunate, you could even catch a kill in progress. Dinner and a night in the lodging you have previously reserved.
Day 5: Serengeti – Ngorongoro Conservation Area
After breakfast this morning, you will travel across the Serengeti on a wildlife drive before continuing on via Nabi Gate into Ngorongoro. Before continuing to your reserved lodging at the Ngorongoro Crater Rim, you may choose to explore Masai Boma or Olduvai Gorge (at an additional expense).
Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater Area – Arusha
You will descend 600 meters to the crater bottom for an amazing wildlife drive after an early breakfast. Numerous animal species may be found at Ngorongoro Crater, which is sometimes referred to be the eighth wonder of the world and the Eden of Africa.
The flora thrives and draws both large and small animals, including as buffalo, zebra hippos, rhinos, elephants, and cats like lions, leopards, cheetahs, jackals, and hyenas, thanks to the crater rim’s annual water supply.
During this one-day game drive in the crater, there is a chance to spot the Big Five. A packed lunch will be provided on the crater floor. You will either be dropped off at Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha Air in the afternoon, or you will travel back to Arusha overnight.
