Rwanda Gorilla Permits: Rwanda is one of the African nations that is home to mountain gorillas, which live in the National Park of Volcanoes.The Park is situated near Kigali center, two hours’ drive from the Kigali International Airport.

The Rwanda Development Board, a group dedicated to preserving Rwanda’s biodiversity including wild apes, is in charge of the gorilla permits. Eight visitors per day are allowed to visit each of Rwanda’s ten habituated gorilla families, allowing a total of 80 visitors to see the mountain gorillas.

The cost of a gorilla trekking permit.

In order to boost the economy and accommodate the increasing number of people living in the national parks, the RDB recently decided to raise the gorilla permits to $1500, which were previously $750 for non-residents, East African residents, East African citizens, Rwandan residents, and Rwandan citizens. The people were thrilled to learn that the number of gorilla permits had increased.

For non-residents, residents of East Africa, residents of Rwanda, and citizens of Rwanda, the permits cost $1500. Additionally, guests who visit the other two national parks (Nyungwe and Akagera) for three days will receive a 30% discount.

Permits for guests who wish to include gorilla trekking in their activities but are staying before or after events are discounted by 15%. Private trekking with a different tour leader is included in the $15,000 price.

Time spent trekking with gorillas

The park headquarters always starts the briefing at 7 a.m., and depending on where the gorillas are, the trekking might take anything from 30 minutes to 6 hours each day. Keep in mind that these wild animals are constantly on the move.
