Gorilla trekking in Uganda
When driving their own vehicles, visitors should think about utilizing a four-wheel drive to go from Buhoma Park Headquarters via Ruhija, which is located in the center of the park. Views into deep valleys that make up the pristine rainforest of Bwindi National Park may be seen from this ridge-top walk.
Keep an eye out for woodland and grassland birds, primates, and duiker. Birdwatchers should trek for three hours to the Mubwindi marsh at Ruhija.Additionally, visitors may ascend via the bamboo zone to see Afromontane flora and expansive vistas of Mafuga woodland and Lake Bunyonyi.
The second gorilla tracking site in Bwindi, located near Nkuringo on the southern side of the forest, is just 10 kilometers from Buhoma. Even though the Impenetrable Forest covers this distance, there are beautiful hikes between the two locations, which take at least four hours.
The Nkuringo trailhead is situated on the remote Nteko Ridge and offers breathtaking views of the Bwindi forest to the north and the Virunga mountains to the south.
The primary activity in Nkuringo is tracking gorillas. The park’s perimeter is situated in a steep valley 600 meters below the road, thus visitors should be in good physical condition. This provides great physical activity both before and after Bwindi National Park gorilla tracking.
Nkuringo communal Villagers embark on a communal stroll that stops at a blacksmith, brewers, a traditional healer, and a rural residence.
