Rwanda is offering air balloon Rides at Akagera Park.
Air balloon rides are available in Rwanda in Akagera Park. Visitors to Akagera National Park will be introduced to a new exciting option with the launch of Rwanda’s first air balloon experience. The Rwanda Development Board (RDB), Royal Balloon, and Akagera Management Company collaborated to create the development.
Under the terms of the agreement, Royal Balloon Rwanda will fly two hot air balloons with space for four to six passengers. Additionally, visitors will have the opportunity to soar between 100 and 1000 meters above the park’s breathtaking savanna-covered landscapes, which are home to a variety of species, including the big five: buffalo, lions, leopards, rhinos, and elephants.
Regarding the new event, RDB CEO Clare Akamanzi said, “We are thrilled to work with Royal Balloon Rwanda to offer another exciting product to Rwanda’s adventure tourism experiences.”
“We are committed to establishing new partnerships and facilitating further investments in the tourism industry to meet the expectations of tourists and make a sustainable contribution to conservation,” she said. Akamanzi concurred with Royal Balloon Rwanda’s managing director, Atilla Turkmen, who commended the group’s partnership with Akagera Management Company.
He went on to say, “This is a great example of how conservation can enhance the natural environment and the lives of local communities.” With over 30 years of experience in the tourist industry, Turkmen said that he would want to connect with Rwanda’s long-term sustainable tourism plan.
“We think that by providing this new tourism activity, we can support conservation efforts and boost tourism in Rwanda at the same time.” According to Ladies Ndahiriwe, Park Manager of Akagera National Park, hot air ballooning would provide visitors an exhilarating new perspective of the park’s breathtaking and unique landscapes while also contributing financially to the park’s preservation.
