Safaris and trips to Kora National Park – “The Last Wilderness” Originally the residence of George and Joy Adamson, the Kora National Park provides a pure wilderness filled with lofty inselbergs and blessed by the Tana River on which the Adamson’s Falls, Grand Falls and Kora Rapids are located. Along with visiting George Adamson’s tomb, visitors may take advantage of the varied birds and fishing on Tana River rock-climbing.

Another coastal National Park and reserve in Kenya is Kora National Park. Along the Tana River, 1,7800sqkm of park land stretches 125km east of Mount Kenya.

About 1990, the previous nature reserve underwent transformation into a Kenya wildlife game park. Gentle sloping slopes from the Aberdare mountains and Mount Kenya from central Kenya make up the park. Mostly composed of granite inselbergs rising to 488m, the terrain has bushes, forests, doum palms.

The Adamson’s in the movie Born Free or Talk of the Lioness Elsa make the park famous. Before it became a National park, George Adamson was slain by poachers on this particular reserve in 1989. Spend some time visiting George Adamson’s burial located in the park.
